RANGMANCH 1.5

I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being. – Oscar Wilde

Theatre in Education allows students to explore social scenarios, challenges and make them feel like in a safe and supportive environment dealing with vulnerable emotions. Performances can help students to explore diverse perspectives and develop empathy for the experiences of others. With this insight, the Cultural Club at the Asian Law College, Noida had organized the “Rangmanch Event- a Theatrical Drama” on 2nd November, 2023. The themes addressed in the performances, such as gender inequality, men empowerment, education, literacy and family relationships, demonstrated a conscious effort to bring awareness to important societal issues. Such exposure not only helps students understand the complexities of these issues but also makes them more aware and sensitive towards them. Additionally, the act of delivering a strong message through their drama adds depth to their performances and engages the audience on a more profound level.

Moreover, students of various batches of B.A. LL.B. and LL. B. participated enthusiastically with diverse themes depicting creativity. The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Navdeep Kaur, Assistant Professor, ALC, and Mr. Kunal Yadav, Assistant Professor, ASB as judges of the Rangmanch event. The Event turned out to be a huge success, featuring the “Thespians Team” as the winner and “The Warriors” as the runner-up. The award of the Best Actor Male was bagged by “Atul Kumar” from B.A. LL.B. 2023 and “Anna Verma” from B.A. LL.B. 2023 for bagging the Best Actor Female award. These accolades recognize not only individual acting skills but also the ability to bring characters to life on stage, contributing to the overall success of the performances.

The fact that the entire Faculty of Asian Law College witnessed the program and thoroughly enjoyed the participants’ performances speaks volumes about the quality and entertainment value of the event. Such events not only showcase the creative and artistic abilities of the students but also bring the academic community together in a shared appreciation for the arts.
