RANGMACH- THEATRICAL DRAMA

“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts.”

~William Shakespeare

Theatre in education can make information easier for students to understand, process and retain, especially complex topics that involve human emotions and interpersonal relationships. Theatre provides a ‘cognitive playground’ in which students can experiment with different choices and vicariously experience the consequences of their own and others’ behaviours in a safe environment. With this vision, the Cultural Club of Asian Law College on 23rd March 2023 organized Rang Manch (Theatrical Drama) event.

By participating in Rang Manch, students’ creativity and thought process was stimulated. The students got the opportunity to act in various genres of performances like comedy, melodrama, political theatre, motivational, tragedy, etc. Through their drama, they delivered a strong message to the audience. The viewers who were present in the auditorium had a memorable experience. The very experience of this theatre event made students more aware and sensitive towards several issues touching upon gender inequality and women empowerment, corruption in politics and society, education and literacy, superstition, family relationship, etc.

The students from different Batches of B.A.LL.B, and LL.B. showcased their creativity freely. There were a total of 9 teams who participated in this event. Through this event, students got an opportunity to identify their imagination skills and the power of creative expressions. Students portrayed different themes in a very well-presented manner. The event was concluded by the Valedictory Ceremony, where the winners and participants were awarded as titled Best Performance, and Best Male and Female Actor and appreciated for their efforts and hard work. The lasting impact of social issues portrayed in all the acts made the event successful and most cherished.
