NATIONAL UNITY DAY CELEBRATION

 The National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Cultural Club of Asian Law College, Noida celebrated the National Unity Day also called “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” on 31st October 2023 with the primary objective to celebrate the cultural diversity of India and to inculcate the feeling of unity and togetherness in the nation. It was celebrated on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel who made great efforts to unite India.

The event started with the solo folk singing performance and a welcome address by Ms. Ayushi Gupta, Assistant Professor to state the importance of the contributions of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and recognition of his birth anniversary as the National Unity Day. The event commenced with the Thougal Jagoi prayer dance which is a traditional Manipuri folk dance to invoke the deities and pay homage to the creation of Earth. The students celebrated this day by performing different solo folk dance forms. The students presented Chaliya Nritya from Uttarakhand, Kalbeliya dance from Rajasthan, Lavani from Maharashtra, South Indian Classical dance form, and Garba from Gujarat. The event was coloured with various other group dance performances which represented Gujarati and  Rajasthani folk dance by various students across the batches showcasing the sense of unity in diversity, it became a testament to the richness and vibrancy inherent in our society.

The gathering was further addressed by Mr. Amit Nagar, Program Convener LL.B. and Ms. Divyasha Dubey, Program Convener B.A. LL.B. encouraged the students’ participation and threw light on the diverse cultures of the different regions and languages of India.  The conclusion of the event with the National Anthem added a patriotic and unifying element, symbolizing a shared identity beyond cultural differences. It serves as a reminder that, despite the diverse backgrounds, there exists a common thread that binds individuals together as a part of a larger community or nation.
