ALC NOVICE MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2023-24

The ALC Novice Moot Court Competition hosted by Asian Law College, Noida was held on 9th-10th February, 2024 was a resounding success, providing a dynamic platform for students to immerse themselves in the intricacies of the Indian legal system. With the primary objective of simulating real court proceedings, the event sought to offer participants a tangible experience in drafting legal briefs and engaging in oral arguments. Specifically tailored to students pursuing law courses, the competition aimed to enhance their advocacy skills, instill confidence, and foster a practical understanding of the legal milieu in India. The event unfolded, attracting the participation of 14 teams from B.A. LL.B. 2022 and LL.B. 2022. The moot problem, centered around Constitutional Law with connections to Criminal Law, set the stage for a challenging yet enriching competition.

The structured timeline of the competition spanned multiple rounds, initiating with the Preliminary Rounds on February 9th, 2024, progressing to the Quarter-Final Round held on February 10th, 2024 paving the way for the Semi-Final Round on the same day. The Semi-Final Round showcased the heightened competition as two teams secured their places in the Final Round. The culmination of various intense rounds set the stage for the valedictory session, where the winners were officially announced and accolades were bestowed upon outstanding participants.

The distinguished awards presented during the valedictory session included the Winning Team award, conferred upon Team Code 24 had following members Jayeeta Mandal, Yoshita Manral, and Vani Bhrigu from B.A. LL.B. 2022. The Runners- up was bagged by Team Code 33 had following participants Muskaan Parveen, Saumya, and Sambis Kumar from B.A. LL.B. 2022. Anugrah Saxena, B.A. LL.B. 2022 was awarded as the Best Mooter, while the Best Memorial award went to a team consisting of Punya Ranjan, Tushar Kumar, and Kavya Yadav from B.A. LL.B. 2022. Ekta Trivedi from B.A. LL.B. 2022 was acknowledged as the Best Researcher. In the Valedictory ceremony Mr. Amit Nagar, Program Chair, LL.B. and Ms. Divyasha Dubey, Program Chair, B.A. LL.B. expressed their gratitude, extending a vote of thanks to all participants and collaborators for contributing to the success of the event. It was portrayed as a transformative experience, instilling confidence, honing advocacy skills, and contributing to the development of well-rounded legal professionals.
