ALC Orientation Programme 2022 – The Donor Man of India

Asian Law College under the aegis of the Asian Education Group is organizing the orientation program for the batch of 2022 of B.A. LL.B. and LL.B. courses from 24th August,2022 to 1st September, 2022. The purpose of this orientation program is for familiarizing the students with the college environment and helps them start their journey of learning and growth.

The second session of the 25th of August, 2022 witnessed the mighty presence of the 100 times blood donor who bagged World Record in World Book of Record and also known as Donor Man of India, Padma Shri Awardee for his service to society and our renowned Chief Guest Mr. Jitendra Singh Shunty. The session began with showing a video to the students where Mr. Shunty was being interviewed regarding his efforts he has made during the tough times of COVID-19 for helping the families to cremate their loved ones when no one was helping others and there were only a few who came forward to extend their hands to those who were in need.

The session was graced by the presence of the directors of the Asian Education Group Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Mr. Saurabh Sharma and Mr. Gurdeep Singh Raina, Principal of Asian Law College Dr. T.N. Prasad and Head of Asian Law College, Mr. Ashish Bhardwaj and it began with a brief introduction of the chief guest by Ms. Garima Malhotra, Master of Ceremony. The speaker was requested to address the students and share his life experience and inspire the students to understand their responsibility towards society along with their legal education. The speech given by the renowned guest speaker filled the audience with a feeling of patriotism as he shared the instances of his efforts he made during COVID-19 pandemic and he explained the difference between the extraordinary efforts to be made to stand out from the society and achieve great heights by giving the examples of great freedom fighters, Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Batukeshwar Dutt and Shaheed Udham Singh who sacrificed their lives for India’s Independence. He advised the college to arrange the visits for students to places of importance for the Freedom Struggle like Jalliawala Bagh in Amritsar and Cellular Jail in Andaman & Nicobar Island. Further, he shared how he started his NGO Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sewa Dal for helping cremate bodies free of cost for those who cannot afford the final rites of their loved ones. They even have cremated bodies of completely abandoned dead bodies at the times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The whole session was filled with positive energy and enthusiasm with the speaker’s words of wisdom. The session moved forward with Ms. Malhotra discussed some questions on behalf of the audience from the speaker which were very humbly and diligently answered by the renowned guest. The platform was then laid open for the students to ask questions to the guest, the opportunity opened the gates of inquisitivity of the students and without hesitation, they clarified their doubts and asked some questions on social issues which was appreciated by the speaker and he answered every question very humbly. The session concluded with great learnings and life-lessons taken home by the audience to ponder upon.
