On 28th August 2024, the Asian Law College, Noida hosted a grand two-day Orientation Programme to formally welcome the new batch of 5-year B.A.LL.B. And 3-year LL.B. programme. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the knowledge lamp, invoking the divine blessings of Mata Saraswati and Lord Ganesha. The occasion was graced by several distinguished luminaries, with Hon’ble Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Former Chief Justice of India, serving as the Chief Guest along with the presence of Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, Asian Education Group, Directors of the Asian Education Group (AEG), Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Dr. Saurabh Sharma, and Dr. Gurdeep Singh Raina—who played pivotal roles in welcoming and inspiring the new students.
The first session of the programme began with formal addresses from the Directors of AEG, each offering words of wisdom, encouragement, and motivation for the incoming law students. Their speeches were aimed at setting the tone for the rigorous academic journey ahead while reinforcing the core values of integrity, perseverance, and professionalism that the institution upholds. Following the Directors’ addresses, Hon’ble Justice Ranjan Gogoi delivered a keynote speech that was both insightful and motivational. Justice Gogoi drew upon his extensive legal experience to inspire the students, emphasizing the importance of dedication to the study of law and the pursuit of justice. His words were a powerful reminder of the critical role that future lawyers play in shaping society. Hon’ble Justice Ranjan Gogoi was graciously honored by felicitation by the Director sir’s. As part of the session, Justice Gogoi also took the opportunity to personally sign copies of his autobiography, Justice for the Judge, a reflection on his illustrious career and the ethical challenges faced by those in positions of judicial power. Additionally, he signed copies of the Criminal Manual, containing key legislative documents such as the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (2003), Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (2023), and Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (2003). The day’s proceedings also included the formal inauguration of the Library Reading Lounge, a dedicated space aimed at fostering the students’ academic growth and intellectual curiosity.
The second session of the day resumed post-lunch with an equally engaging session, featuring the renowned mathematician, academician, and social reformer, Padma Shri Anand Kumar. Famed for his pioneering Super 30 initiative, which has successfully guided underprivileged students towards prestigious educational opportunities, Mr. Kumar captivated the audience with stories from his personal and professional life. He shared valuable life lessons drawn from his journey of overcoming adversity and achieving success, as well as inspirational accounts of his students’ accomplishments. His address was particularly moving, leaving the students with a sense of purpose and the drive to pursue excellence in their own academic and professional endeavors.
The day concluded with a felicitation of Mr. Anand Kumar by Dr. Sandeep Marwah highlighting Mr. Kumar’s dedication and impact in his field, making the orientation truly memorable. It was followed by formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their participation and contributions to the event’s success. The Orientation Programme not only marked the beginning of an exciting academic journey for the new batch of law students but also set a strong foundation of inspiration, guidance, and intellectual curiosity that will accompany them throughout their time at the Asian Law College.
