The Research and Development Cell of Asian Law College, Noida, organized the Budget Conclave, 2024 on February 8th, 2024. This competition garnered enthusiastic involvement from students enrolled in various batches of the B.A. LL.B. and LL.B. programs, highlighting a diverse and vibrant participation. The objective of the event was to nurture students’ financial literacy, critical thinking, research awareness, and decision-making ability, essential components for their holistic development and future financial planning endeavors. By focusing on real-world applications and risk management, the conclave sought to instill a heightened economic consciousness among the participating students, preparing them for the complexities of budgetary processes and resource allocation in practical scenarios.
During the conclave, students were assigned roles as heads of ministries serving as speakers for the Mock Budget session 2024. This event facilitated dynamic interactions wherein each participant was granted three minutes to introduce themselves and present their ministries, followed by incisive questioning from the speakers aimed at providing a comprehensive understanding of the budgetary aspects under discussion. This interactive format not only encouraged students to engage critically with the material but also improved their analytical abilities and decision-making skills in a simulated real-world environment. It compelled students to delve deeper into the intricacies of budgetary processes and decision-making. By actively engaging in discussions and defending their proposals, students improved their analytical abilities, communication skills, and sharpened their capacity for critical thinking.
The event concluded with speakers sharing valuable insights and recommendations, promoting a fruitful exchange of ideas. Participants showcased enhanced research skills, improved critical evaluation of sources, and better financial management. Atul Kumar, Md. Tauheed Ahmad, Tushar Verma from the B.A. LL.B. 2023 Batch, and Ritika Rawat from the LL.B. 2023 Batch emerged as winners in this event. The Budget Conclave 2024 provided practical simulations and engaging discussions, equipping students with essential competencies for navigating budgetary processes and decision-making, fostering both academic and professional growth in law and beyond.
