BLOOD DONATION CAMP ORGANIZED BY NSS

Every Blood Donor is a Lifesaver!

The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Asian Law College, Noida in collaboration with Rashtriya Charitable Blood Centre and the Indian Red Cross Society, organized a Blood Donation Camp on 6th February 2024. The camp was open to all batches and was driven by the motto “Donate blood and be the reason for someone’s existence.

The event aimed to raise awareness among students about the critical issue of blood shortage and to ensure the availability of safe blood components throughout the year. Voluntary blood donation is a profound act of altruism that instills a sense of responsibility towards the vulnerable sections of society who need immediate medical assistance. By collaborating with Mr. Vikas Sharma and his team from the Indian Red Cross Society, the college sought to harness the potential of the youth for social welfare.

The camp began at 10:00 A.M. with the arrival of the Red Cross Society team at the ALC Campus. There was a continuous flow of students eager to register and donate blood throughout the day. Each donor received a certificate as a token of appreciation for their selfless service. Additionally, they were provided with a donor card, valid for a lifetime for the donor and one year for their immediate family members, allowing them to obtain one unit of blood of any desired group. Post-donation, donors were given juice and fruits to help restore their energy.

The NSS Blood Donation Camp was a resounding success, marked by a substantial turnout. The event fulfilled the NSS motto “Not Me but You,” encouraging students to engage in selfless acts of service. It highlighted the importance of community responsibility and altruism, ensuring a steady supply of blood for those in need. The camp significantly boosted the spirit of giving among students, reinforcing their commitment to social welfare.
