Asian Law College holds its BALLB & LLB Orientation Programme 2019 with Due Solemnity

Noida, 19th August 2019: Asian Law College (ALC) – part of Asian Education Group and  ranked as one of the best Law Colleges in Delhi NCR –  conducted the orientation  of BALLB and LLB 2019 Batch on Monday, 19th August 2019. The Orientation Programme provided an opportunity to all the new students to explore the wide horizon of law by interacting with legal professional, industry experts, retired Judges, Senior Advocate and foreign delegates who mentored the incoming BALLB & LLB batch at the inception of their academic journey at ALC.

The distinguished guests for the ceremony who graced the ALC orientation 2019 with their august presence included His Excellency Mr. Ricardo A Berna, Deputy Head of Mission Embassy of Panama, Hon’ble Justice K. G. Balakrishnan, Former Chief Justice of India and Dr. Anoop Bose, Sr. Advocate, Supreme Court of India.

The programme  also  witnessed the presence of AEG leadership and ALC’s academic team which included Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, Asian Education Group (AEG); Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director-Asian Education Group (AEG); Dr. Priya A. Sondhi, Professor & Associate Dean – Asian Law College; and Mr. Ashish Bhardawaj, HOD – Asian Law College (ALC), who hosted the ceremony on behalf of AEG.

Mr. Ashish Bhardawaj, HOD, Asian Law College (ALC), started his welcome address by extending his gratitude towards the dignitaries on the dais and welcoming the incoming students to ALC BALLB & LLB orientation programme on behalf of AEG. He congratulated all the new students for choosing a “very bold and responsible profession”. In the course of his address, Mr. Bharadawaj introduced the institution to the students with all its clubs and societies, teaching pedagogy, various opportunities that will come their way and their responsibilities during their academic journey.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director, Asian Education Group (AEG), expressed his gratitude towards the eminent guests and the academic team, and welcomed all the students to Asian Law College. In his address, Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava talked about the gravity of responsibilities that lies with intuition to shape the future of the students. He talked about the individualized attention and development plan that all the BALLB and LLB students would get. Dr. Srivastava also asked the students to “have trust and faith in the institution you are getting associated with”, because the onus of getting involved and identifying the problems/potential to work upon those lies with them.

Addressing the students’ gathering, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, Asian Education Group (AEG), congratulated the students and told them how “…there is huge scope for lawyers today in this country. In the coming five to ten years you will be in great demand with people rushing to law schools for better, bigger, smarter and intelligent lawyers.” With his address, Dr. Marwah charged up the atmosphere in his customary style.  Dr. Marwah exhorted the students to align their thinking & feelings with goodness and to remember that “to achieve one’s goal in life, you have to have a very strong determination and a Yes-I-Can-Do-It attitude.”

This was followed by the release of ALC peer reviewed journal named “ALC Lex Revista”. The journal contains well-researched articles in diverse fields written by eminent academicians & professionals across the globe.

Delivering his Chief Guest address, Hon’ble Justice Sh. K. G. Balakrishnan, Former Chief Justice of India & Former Chairperson, National Human Rights Commission of India, congratulated the students for joining ALC and talked about the legal landscape which is undergoing a transformation with improved prospects. In the course of his address, Justice Balakrishnan gave examples to prove how “study of law is a wonderful thing”. To highlight dignity and opportunity attached with legal profession, he mentioned many US presidents, India freedom fighters and contemporary distinguished personalities who belong to the same profession. In the end, Hon’ble Justice Sh. K. G. Balakrishnan advised the new BALLB and LLB batch to work hard and overcome the initial hurdles with determination.

This was followed by an address by His Excellency Mr. Ricardo A Berna, Deputy Head of Mission Embassy of Panama, who started his address with greetings from Panamanian President Mr. Laurentino Cortizo. He then congratulated the students for their decision to enter into a noble profession. In his address, His Excellency advised the students to be socially and legally conscious as citizens of this great country. He asked the students to involved in issues like abolition of Article 370 to be able to come up with solutions. This according to him would help the students come out as capable professionals.

Lastly, eminent guest Dr. Anoop Bose, Sr. Advocate, Supreme Court of India, addressed the, “…young students, who will one day (not in the distant future) would join the world’s second oldest profession”, and congratulated them for their decision. During the course of his address which focused on “dos and the don’ts for the young legal professionals”, Dr. Bose quoted various renowned personalities in the field which left the audience spellbound and edified.

The sedate academic event then witnessed the formal ‘Oath Ceremony’ that was led by Dr. Priya A. Sondhi

The lively event concluded with the customary Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Ravi Sharma, Asst. Dean – Corporate Resource Cell (CRC), Asian Education Group.

In the second half of the ALC orientation day, there was a Panel Discussion on ROLE OF NGOS IN SOCIETY UPLIFTMENT – THE LEGAL PRESPECTIVE.
