Supremus De Constitution 2.0 -The Championship on Constitutional Laws

The Supremus De Constitution 2.0 – The Championship on Constitutional Laws, held on March 9, 2024, organized by the Legal Aid Center and National Service Scheme of Asian Law College, marked a significant celebration of the Indian Constitution while providing a platform for students to showcase their legal acumen. The inaugural session, graced by esteemed dignitaries including, Mr. Ashish Bharadwaj, Assistant Dean, Asian Law College, Dr. Mohammad Khalid, Professor, ALC, Mr. Amit Nagar, and Ms. Divyasha Dubey, Program Chairs, ALC, set the tone for the event. The presence of distinguished judges, Adv. Amar Nath Saini, founder and director AN global law firm and Adv. Abhinav Deshwal, founder and partner, vertex legal LLP added gravitas to the event. Their expertise and experience in legal matters provided invaluable insights to both participants and spectators alike.

The event comprised three challenging rounds designed to test the participants’ knowledge and skills. The MCQ test round, featuring 100 questions covering various aspects of the Indian Constitution, served as the initial filter, challenging participants at different difficulty levels. From there, the top 8 scorers advanced to the buzzer round, where their quick thinking and understanding of constitutional matters were put to the test through 45 questions, including multimedia-based queries. The finalists then proceeded to the climax of the competition, the extempore round, where they had to eloquently present on randomly selected constitutional topics within a specified time frame.

Following intense competition and impressive performances from all finalists, Furquan Ali of B.A. LL.B. 2021 Batch emerged as the deserving winner, with Priya Sharma (B.A. LL.B. 2021 Batch) and Tushar Dwivedi (B.A. LL.B. 2020 Batch) securing the first and second runner-up positions, respectively. The Supremus De Constitution 2.0 not only celebrated the Indian Constitution but also served as a platform for nurturing legal talent. Through rigorous rounds and expert evaluation, the event not only honed participants’ knowledge but also enhanced their presentation and critical thinking skills. Ultimately, it was a testament to the enduring significance of the Constitution and the dedication of the legal community to uphold its principles.
