Asian Law College, Noida part of Asian Education Group (AEG) organized the “Policy Discussion and Article Writing on Gender Sensitization” on 20th April 2023 and 1st May, 2023.
The Asian Law College is keen to bring gender equality in society, through awareness among the students, which further accelerates this awareness in the society. Students deliberated on the various gender-related laws and awareness programs of the Government of India followed by a comprehensive article written by them on gender sensitization. They also shared their suggestions for improvements required on the implementation of such policies more effectively.
The topics for discussion were Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme, 2015, Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT), 1994, Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act. 2012, Surrogacy Regulation Act 2021, The Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013, The Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, and Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2018.
The major goal of this competition was to spread awareness related to gender equality among the students. This event involved creating awareness, changing attitudes, and fostering inclusivity to ensure equal opportunities and rights for all the genders, students in particular, and society in general. These skills will help them to become future policymakers, policy interventionists, and a great lawyer.
The Asian Law College really appreciates each student who participated in the activity and learnt a lot from the discussions. The winners and the participants were awarded by the e- certificates.
