NATIONALS RANKING MOCK TRIAL ADVOCACY COMPETITION 2023

The Moot Court Committee of Asian Law College under the aegis of Asian Education group organized The Nationals’ Ranking Trial Advocacy Competition, 2023.The purpose of Ranking the team for a prima facie selection to be sent for National and International Moot Court and Trial Advocacy Competitions. The competition helped the students understand how a criminal trial is to be conducted.

The event was officially inaugurated by two chief guests Ms. Richa Upadhyay, ADJ(FTC), Gautam Buddha Nagar and Mr. R.B. Sharma, District and Sessions Judge (Retired.). The day also marked the presence of Dr. Saleem Akhtar, Director of Academic Advisory Board, ALC and Mr. Ashish Bhardawaj, Assistant Dean, ALC, Mr. Amit Nagar & Ms. Divyasha Dubey, Program Convenor, ALC. As a part of the inaugural ceremony, poster of Model G-20 Summit on Gender Equality and the Rights of Transgender.
The gathering was addressed by Ms. Richa Upadhyay, ADJ(FTC), Gautam Buddha Nagar. She, in her address motivated the students to consider litigation and legal aid as their career paths, once they embark on their professional journey. Mr. R.B. Sharma, District and Sessions Judge (Retired.) in his address laid emphasis on the significance of sensitization towards transgender persons. He also recited a poem which aligned with the issue of rights of transgender persons. The event also witnessed a poem recitation by Mr. Satya Dev Prakash, a student of BA LL.B. XIth Semester.

The inauguration event was followed by Prelimanary rounds for the Competition amongst the 45 participating teams. The second day was marked by the Quarter, Semi Final and Final Rounds amongst the qualified teams. The final round of the competition was conducted in the moot court room. On the basis of the results, the students will be shortlisted for the National Moot Court Competitions to represent Asian Law College.

The event ensured participation of students from all semesters of Asian Law College. The students of first year ensured their participation as volunteers and witnesses for the competing teams. The competition was successfully conducted with the support and cooperation of the Moot Court Committee of Asian Law College.
