MEGA EVENT: SOCIAL CHANGE- MAKER CHAMPION OF THE YEAR 2022-23

Asian Law College, Noida a unit of the Asian Education Group organized the mega event “Social Change-Maker Champion of the Year 2022-23” on 30th November 2023. This championship commenced on 1st August 2022 with the vision of keenly focusing on social welfare and social upliftment providing a platform to all the ALC students who with their ideas and efforts aim to sculpt the society into a transformed virtuous habitat for humanity. The students actively participated in a variety of social initiatives, including assisting tribal communities, providing education to the underprivileged, offering support to individuals with special needs, volunteering in areas affected by floods, advocating for stray animals, aiding mentally challenged women, promoting the adoption of TB patients, and engaging in numerous other impactful activities. Among the 400 + entries for the competition, only few were able to reach the semi-finals based on the social work they have done throughout the year. Semi-finale was conducted on 22nd November, 2023 where the eminent personalities who dedicatedly work for the society in their respective fields. Out of the numerous participants, only 12 students, namely Bhoomika Bhatia, Chanchal, Surya Narayan Sahu, Ranjeet Saw, Satyadev Prakash, Nikhil, Apurwa Srivastava, Harshita Kumari, Mansi, Nikhil, Paras Nath, and Yoshita Manral, successfully reached to the finale.

The Grand-Finale started with the warm welcome of the dignitaries and the gathering was charged up with the address of Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director-Asian Education Group (AEG); Mr. Saurabh Sharma, Director-Asian Education Group (AEG); Mr. Gurdeep Singh Raina Director-Asian Education Group (AEG) and guest of the event. The event was honored with the presence of Asia’s Most prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Awardee who is imprinting footprints on the society Dr. Rajendra Singh “Jal Purush”, Waterman of India, founder of Tarun Bharat Sangh (TBS) and Prime Minister Awardee Ripu Daman Bevli, an environmentalist and social activist, founder of litter free India and ambassador of FIT India Movement as the chief guests and judges for the competition. The event proceeded with compelling PowerPoint presentations given by the students effectively conveying their societal contributions by sharing insights into their experiences, lessons learned, and plans.

The eagerly anticipated moment arrived with the announcement of results by the dignitaries. Apurwa Srivastava from the B.A.LL.B Batch 2020 emerged as the Social Change Maker Champion of the year 2022-2023. She was awarded a social grant of Rs.1 lakh, a MacBook, a trophy, and a digital/web presence in recognition of her remarkable efforts in uplifting the tribal community, menstrual hygiene awareness, and other legal and social aid. The event concluded with the felicitation of the esteemed guests. The judges commended the empathetic efforts of the students and the institution for organizing such a meaningful event, recognizing the importance of fostering social awareness and responsibility.
