GRANT ISSUED: SOCIAL CHANGE MAKER CHAMPION OF THE YEAR 2022-23

Asian Law College, Noida issued a social grant of Rs. 1 Lakh cheque to Apurwa Srivastava, the Social Change-Maker Champion of the Year 2022-23 on 16th February 2024. She conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to the institution for conducting such an event, providing her with the opportunity to express herself and her work. This event motivated her to continue with her endeavors and others to initiate. The flagship event of the Social Change Maker Champion of the Year 2022-2023 commenced on August 1, 2022 with a particular focus on social welfare and upliftment, giving all ALC students a platform to share their ideas and efforts in hopes of transforming society into a reformed, moral home for humanity. The students took part in a wide range of social initiatives, such as supporting tribal communities, educating the impoverished, helping people with special needs, volunteering in flood-affected areas, supporting stray animals, helping mentally challenged women, encouraging the adoption of TB patients, and taking part in a plethora of other meaningful activities. Only a small number out of the 400+ entrants in the competition made it to the semi-finals. Semi-finale was conducted on 22nd November, 2023 graced by the eminent personalities who dedicatedly work for the society in their respective fields. Out of the numerous participants, only 12 students, namely Bhoomika Bhatia, Chanchal, Surya Narayan Sahu, Ranjeet Saw, Satyadev Prakash, Nikhil, Apurwa Srivastava, Harshita Kumari, Mansi, Nikhil, Paras Nath, and Yoshita Manral, successfully reached to the finale. 

 

The Grand finale of the event was organized on 30th November 2023 which was charged up by the presence of Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director-Asian Education Group (AEG); Mr. Saurabh Sharma, Director-Asian Education Group (AEG); Mr. Gurdeep Singh Raina Director-Asian Education Group (AEG) and guest of the event. The event was honored with the presence of Asia’s Most prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Awardee who is imprinting footprints on the society Dr. Rajendra Singh “Jal Purush”, Waterman of India, founder of Tarun Bharat Sangh (TBS) and Prime Minister Awardee Ripu Daman Bevli, an environmentalist and social activist, founder of litter free India and ambassador of FIT India Movement as the chief guests and judges for the competition. 

 

The event successfully concluded with the announcement of the results, Apurwa Srivastava of B.A.LL.B. Batch 2020 won the title of 2022–2023 Social Change Maker Champion of the year. As a result of her outstanding work raising awareness of menstrual hygiene, providing other legal and social aid, and improving the tribal community, she was given a social grant of Rs. 1 lakh, a MacBook, a trophy, and a digital/web presence.
