Asian Law College, Noida, in collaboration with SCC Online, organized a one-day Legal Research Workshop on 9th April 2025 for students of the B.A. LL.B. and LL.B. 2024 batches. The workshop aimed to introduce students to the fundamentals of effective legal research using the powerful resources of the SCC Online database. The workshop was held in the presence of the Dean Academics, Program Chairs, Conveners, and Faculty Members, reflecting the college’s commitment to academic excellence.
Students were guided by expert resource persons from SCC Online’s Learning and Training Cell—Mr. Rajesh Raina, Mr. Arvind Mishra, and Mr. Amit Yadav—from EBC, Lucknow. Conducted in two separate sessions (11:00 AM–12:00 PM and 12:00 PM–01:00 PM) across different classrooms, the workshop offered an interactive and practical learning experience. Students explored key features of SCC Online, including searching case law, accessing legislation, and using legal commentaries and other academic materials for in-depth research. The workshop also included a brief overview of the evolution of legal databases in India, illustrating how technology has transformed the way legal professionals access and utilize information. Faculty members actively supported the sessions, ensuring that students received personalized guidance during hands-on demonstrations.
A special Question & Answer session followed the presentation, where students actively engaged with the resource persons, clarifying doubts and gaining deeper insights into legal research techniques. The training encouraged the practical application of these tools, vital for their academic and professional journey. The workshop was a valuable initiative that greatly enhanced the overall learning experience of participants, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and its real-world applications. It also emphasized the importance of staying updated with modern legal tools and databases for accuracy and efficiency.
