Constitution Day- Shri Jai Hind Kumar

Asian Law College commemorated this year’s Constitution Day (26 November) on the theme “India: The Mother of Democracy”, with the gracious presence of Shri Jai Hind Kumar Singh, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), District Court, Gautam Budh Nagar.

The celebration began with the address of the Assistant Dean of ALC, Mr. Ashish Bharadwaj who enlightened the students about the importance of this day and also introduced them to the District Legal Service Authority and its Secretary, Shri Jai Hind Kumar Singh. Further, Prof. (Dr.) T.N Prasad, Principal, Asian Law College shared his valuable insights on the drafting of the Indian Constitution and the important debates and discussions that helped in creating this remarkable text. Finally, the guest of honour, Shri Jai Hind Kumar Singh addressed the students by apprising them about the importance of the Indian Constitution. He informed the students about the opportunity to work as a Para Legal Volunteer in District Legal Services Authority and Lok Adalats. He enlightened the students about the benefits and importance of being in association with the District Legal Services Authority and the Legal Aid Centre of Asian Law College. Lastly, he discussed about the development of Indian Constitution and how it has been able to adapt itself with the changing times.

The Session was informative and inspiring. It helped the students to gain knowledge about the District Legal Services Authority and how working as a Para Legal Volunteer will give them the practical exposure to legal aid. The students were able to comprehend the importance of the constitution and the process that led to its drafting. The session was accompanied with Nukkad Natak and Poetry Competition to celebrate the Constitution Day.
