Book Donation Drive

Reading is not just an escape — it’s a journey that empowers minds, connects communities, and builds a future one page at a time.

A Book Donation Drive was organized by Legal Aid Centre in collaboration with DLSA Gautam Buddh Nagar, to collect books for underprivileged communities and educational institutions. The Book Donation Drive was officially launched on 10th March 2025 and continued till 20th March 2025. The primary aim of this initiative was to promote literacy, provide access to educational resources, and encourage a love of reading among children and adults in underserved areas. The key objectives of the Book Donation Drive were: 1. Promote Literacy: To encourage reading and improve literacy rates within underserved communities. 2. Support Education: To provide educational resources, including textbooks and storybooks, to schools and libraries lacking sufficient materials. 3. Foster Community Engagement: To involve the local community in supporting education and personal development. 4. Sustainability: To establish a continuous cycle of book donation and sharing, helping to meet long-term educational needs.

During the Book donation drive, the Books were collected at the Library of Asian Law College. Donors were encouraged to contribute gently used books for all age groups and academic levels. Volunteers sorted the donated books by genre, age group, and condition to ensure that only appropriate books were distributed. A special focus was placed on children’s books, textbooks, and educational resources. Over 100 books were donated during the drive and over 15 volunteers participated in the sorting, packing, and distributing of the books, demonstrating strong community support.

The Book Donation Drive was a resounding success, providing much-needed resources to underprivileged communities and promoting the love of reading and learning. The generous contributions of local residents, along with the dedication of volunteers, ensured that the drive met and exceeded its objectives. This initiative highlighted student leadership, strengthened campus solidarity, and encouraged a culture of mutual support and academic growth. Moving forward, the community plans to continue organizing such events to create lasting educational opportunities and help bridge the resource gap for many.
