Asian Law College in collaboration with Saket Bar Association organized a guided tour to District Court Saket, New Delhi for its students of BALLB and LLB.

The students were taken in batches from 7th to 11th November 2022. They went on a guided tour by a member of Bar Council of the Saket court. The students were first taken to the court of metropolitan magistrate where they got the opportunity to witness the live proceedings of the court. They were then guided to the family court in order to witness the recording of evidence in the court. Further, they were taken to the court of Principal District/ Session Judge where they witnessed the arguments on pre-charge evidence. The students also visited new building of Saket Court which consisted of the Special courts that were established for the disposal of cases related to negotiable instruments. They were also shown the area where the prisoners are kept for the trials.

The visit to Saket Court provided an enriching experience to the students as they got the practical exposure to the procedures of the court. They were also given the opportunity to interact with some advocates and senior advocates of the court. They informed and taught the students about the code of conduct in a court, the court ethics and gave them some valuable insights about the procedures inside the courtroom. The visit was not only informative and insightful but it also helped the students to connect their classroom teaching experience to the real-life legal practice.
