Asian Law College hosted Shri Ramveer Tanwar, the POND MAN OF INDIA!!!

Asian Law College hosted Shri Ramveer Tanwar, Environmentalist, TEDx Speaker and Founder of Say Earth, popularly known as the POND MAN OF INDIA!!!

The session was attended by the batches of BALLB and LLB. The speaker enlightened the students by sharing his experience and deliberating on the present environmental issues and environmental laws. Mr. Ramveer Tanwar, a renowned environmentalist has been passionate about water conservation during his student life. He started his campaign called ‘Jal Chaupal’ in Gautam Budhha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh where he urged people to conserve water and to save natural resources like ponds, lakes and wetlands. It was an initiative to create awareness among the people and to sensitise them about the importance of water and the reasons that are leading to water scarcity in India and the World. This initiative has been known to motivate people across the country in order to work for the restoration of ponds. He shared about his training from the Central Pollution Control Board, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India and the NGO called ‘Say Earth’ that was founded by him to focus on the revival of water bodies, forest conservation and environmental awareness. He also enlightened the students about his social media campaign called #SelfieWithPond that got the support of more than 10,000 people from all over the world. The objective of this campaign was to draw the attention of youth towards Pond Conservation. He motivated and encouraged the students to work towards the conservation of natural resources including the ponds, rivers and lakes. He also made the students aware about the water scarcity and the crisis that the world can witness if the water resources are not properly managed and conserved.

The Session was motivating and inspiring. The students were able to comprehend the importance of water resources and how the effort of a single person can give direction to the society.
