The students of B.A.LL.B. Batch 2022 from Asian Law College, Noida on 12th November 2025, visited the V.V. Giri National Labour Institute (VVGNLI), Sector 24, Noida, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, established in July 1974. Named after eminent trade union leader and former President of India, Shri V.V. Giri, the Institute is a premier centre for labour research, training, and education. It has consistently worked to translate academic knowledge into practical policy, legislation, and social action, serving stakeholders across both the organised and unorganised labour sectors with the goal of ensuring a just and equitable place for labour in a democratic society.
The visit offered students a valuable opportunity to explore the institutional mechanisms governing labour law and policy in India. Through interactions with faculty members and research experts at the Institute, students gained meaningful exposure to the evolving challenges and ongoing reforms shaping labour jurisprudence in the country. The experience allowed them to situate their classroom learning within a broader policy and governance context.
The educational tour to VVGNLI was a highly rewarding experience for the students of Asian Law College. Engagement with the Institute’s research-driven environment and its interdisciplinary approach to labour issues significantly enriched students’ understanding of labour law beyond academic texts.
