Visit to Rashtrapati Bhawan

The Heritage Club of Asian Law College, Noida, conducted an enriching and historically significant educational tour of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India. The week-long visits, held from 10th October 2025 to 17th October 2025, offered students from the B.A.LL.B. 2025 and B.Com. L.L.B. 2025 batches a rare opportunity to connect their academic learning with the practical exposure of India’s history and grand architectural legacy.

Students explored the history of the magnificent structure, learning that it was designed by the renowned British Architects Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker. The architecture stands as a monumental symbol, seamlessly blending Indian and Western styles. The group was accompanied by dedicated Faculty In-charges from ALC ensuring that the students gain the maximum pedagogical benefit from the expedition.

The guided tour provided detailed insights into the history, usage, and profound political significance of the Bhavan’s most iconic areas including Ganatantra Mandap (formerly called Durbar Hall) where Students were mesmerized by the magnificent hall and its intricate central dome, now a central space symbolizing the Republic. They also visited Ashok Mandap, originally a ballroom during the British era. It was an ornately decorated room now serving as a key location for significant diplomatic ceremonies, such as the presentation of credentials by ambassadors and high commissioners. Located in the forecourt, the students visited Jaipur Column to understand the vital ceremonial receptions and the famous Change of Guard ceremony in state protocol.

The visit reinforced the Heritage Club’s commitment to providing students with holistic, real-world learning opportunities that complement their demanding academic curriculum. The tour left the future legal professionals inspired by the nation’s premier symbol of democracy, heritage, and political power.
