Law and Media Society is a one of leading society of Asian Law College (ALC). From time and again it organizes various events and programs to keep the Law practitioners update by providing them with an overview of the latest Judgments, Legislative policies and various initiatives taken by the government in the field of Law. On 3 November 2018, the event of the Law and Media society was organised. Students participated in great numbers as Researchers, Editors and Information Bulletin Readers. The event highlighted some of the most informative legal news like the Ayodhaya verdict, Section 66A of Information Technology Act, Sabarimala Judgement, Decriminalization of Politics, Child Custody, recent CBI case and the opening up of Supreme Court for the General Public to visit and witness the proceedings.
Since the time the event was announced to the students, they were enthusiastic about it and wanted to be a part of the event. The students were encouraged to participate and were selected through a preliminary audition round where their research abilities, editing abilities, pronunciation, fluency and the way of deliverance was judged. Students presented the Legal news along with the power- point presentations in order to create an ambiance of a News room. They delivered the news with proper zeal and clarity, highlighting the main points through their slides. Then the forum was kept open for a general discussion. The students asked numerous intellectual questions related to the legal news presented by the speakers. This round helped the researchers to showcase their knowledge about the news in detail. An intellectual discussion took place between the participants and the students witnessing the news, where the participants answered all their questions and queries with facts supporting their research. The students worked as a team to make the event successful. The students got a platform through the Law and Media society to witness the audience and deliver the legal news before them. This society will therefore help them to groom their personalities, enhance their vocabularies and elevate their confidence.
