Experiential Visit to TV9 Bharatvarsh News Channel

As a practical component of the Diploma in Media and Entertainment Law, students of Asian Law College, Noida on 19th January 2026, visited TV9 Bharatvarsh, a leading Hindi-language news channel owned by the TV9 Network. The visit was organized in keeping with ALC’s belief that knowledge remains partial unless coupled with real-world exposure.

During the visit, students also had the opportunity to meet Taapsee Pannu, a prominent Indian actress widely recognised for her work across Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil cinema. Additionally, the students participated in and witnessed firsthand the inner workings of a live television news operation. The visit offered a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into how a major national news channel functions from the newsroom floor to the broadcast studio giving students a practical understanding of the media industry. They observed editorial decision-making processes, live broadcast coordination, and the fast-paced environment in which journalists, producers, and technical staff collaborate to deliver news to millions of viewers.

From a legal standpoint, the experience was particularly illuminating for the students of Asian Law College. They were able to contextualize concepts studied in their diploma programme  such as press freedom, broadcasting regulations, intellectual property in media content, and the ethical responsibilities of news organizations within an actual professional setting. The visit also provided students an opportunity to interact with media professionals and gain insight into career pathways at the intersection of law and journalism. Overall, the visit to TV9 Bharatvarsh proved to be an enriching and thought-provoking experience, successfully bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice in the field of Media and Entertainment Law.
