Visit of National Museum

The Heritage Club of Asian Law College, Noida organized an educational visit to the National Museum, located at Janpath, New Delhi, for students of B.A. LL.B. 2025 & B. Com. LL.B. 2025 from 24th February 2026 to 26th February 2026. The National Museum holds a distinguished place in India’s cultural history, inaugurated by Shri C. Rajagopalachari, the then Governor-General of India; its foundation stone was laid by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on 20th May 1955. The building was constructed in two phases, with the first section inaugurated by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan in 1960 and construction fully completed in 1989.

The traces of institutional origins date back to 1946, when the Maurice Gwyer Committee prepared the blueprint for collecting Indian artefacts to be displayed aesthetically in the National Museum, with the objective of preserving the culture and heritage of India. During the visit, students of Asian Law College observed a rich collection of artefacts representing the breadth and depth of India’s composite cultural heritage. The students took proactive efforts to research the history and artistic significance of the exhibits, gaining an understanding of what makes each artifact worthy of national preservation.

The National Museum visit enlightened the students of Asian Law College about the legal and cultural significance of heritage protection, the importance of art forms preserved over centuries as symbols of national identity, and the framework of laws that safeguard India’s cultural patrimony. The experience reinforced the Heritage Club’s commitment to providing students with holistic learning opportunities that connect legal education to history, culture, and civic responsibility.
