BOOK EXHIBITION TO HONOR MAHATMA GANDHI’S LEGACY

Asian Law College, Noida, organized a vibrant and enlightening Book Exhibition to honor Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy of wisdom and his commitment to knowledge from October 1st to 3rd, in celebration of 155th Gandhi Jayanti. It was organized under the aegis of Gandhian Centre for Peace Studies and Non-violent Communication, a joint initiative between Asian Law College and Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, Raj Ghat, New Delhi. The exhibition aimed to encourage reading habits among students and faculties, and to highlight books that reflect the values of truth, non-violence, and simplicity that Gandhiji espoused.

The exhibition was organized in the college library, beautifully decorated with posters of Mahatma Gandhi, quotes, and various displays. A wide range of books were showcased, including genres like biographies, history, literature, science, and even books authored by Gandhi himself, such as The Story of My Experiments with Truth. Various publishers were featured in the exhibition, displaying an impressive collection of books suitable for readers of all ages. The book exhibition emphasized the relevance of Gandhian principles in today’s fast-paced world, highlighting how adopting values like simplicity, truth, and non-violence can offer meaningful answers to contemporary challenges. These principles encourage individuals to embrace a balanced lifestyle rooted in spiritualism and non-materialism, promoting inner peace and resilience amidst societal pressures. The event provided students with an opportunity to engage with these timeless ideas, sparking thoughtful discussions on how Gandhian values can be integrated into modern life. Students expressed their gratitude to the college administration for facilitating such enriching experiences that broaden their perspectives and reinforce core values.

The Book Fair concluded with a thoughtful reflection on the significance of reading and the pursuit of lifelong learning, leaving a lasting impression on the students. The event was a resounding success, with participants expressing deep appreciation for the commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti through the lens of knowledge and wisdom.
