On 28th September 2024, a storytelling competition titled “Swabhab Swachchata Sanskar Swachhata” was organized at the Satyagraha Mandap, Gandhi Darshan, Rajghat. This event was a collaborative effort between Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, Gandhi Centre for Peace Studies and Nonviolent Communication, Asian Law College, and the Gandhi Study Circle at KIIT Group of Colleges. The event underscored the timeless relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings, particularly his advocacy for truth, non-violence, and ethical living. Gandhi Ji’s principles of self-purification (swabhab swachchata) and personal integrity continue to offer essential guidance for promoting peace and harmony in today’s world.
A total of seventy-four students from multiple colleges participated in the competition, where Asian Law College was represented by four of its students. Three of them showcased their storytelling abilities, while the fourth took on the role as Master of Ceremony. The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. Organizers introduced the host colleges and extended a warm welcome to the esteemed judges: Mr. Dharmendra Shushant, Editor and Senior Journalist; Mr. Dinesh Mishra, Senior Journalist; and Dr. Shaily Guapali, Research Associate with Gandhi Samiti. Competition guidelines were shared, and twenty-three students from different colleges then presented their stories, most of which were narrated in Hindi.
Following the participation by the students, the judges addressed the audience, sharing insights and feedback before announcing the competition results. Among the highlights for Asian Law College was Ms. Anjali Diwakar, a BA.LL.B. 2023 Batch earned third position for her storytelling. Additionally, Saurav Kumar BA.LL.B. 2023 Batch and Aditi Sarkar BA.LL.B. 2020 Batch participated as storytellers from the college, while Rishi Shukla BA.LL.B. 2021 Batch served as the Master of Ceremony, contributing to the event’s smooth flow.
