

Asian Law College has a separate Moot Court Hall, inaugurated by Honorable Mr. Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar, the 44th Chief Justice of India.
The Moot Court Hall at Asian Law College is fully equipped with essential infrastructure, featuring:
Moot Court serves as an indispensable component of legal education, designed in accordance with the parameters set forth by the Bar Council of India to deliver experiential learning within an authentic judicial environment. It enables students to gain practical experience. It allows you to practice presenting cases in a real-life setting, take part in trials, act as a representative for the parties and learn how to conduct oneself in a Court of Law.
The Moot Court Committee at ALC has the responsibility of informing prospective students about upcoming moot court competitions in the country, and students are then trained by faculty members for the same. The society also collaborates with various other law colleges to keep pace with modern developments and techniques in the area of mooting.
The Students at ALC have the opportunity to interact with practicing advocates from the Supreme Court, High Courts, and District Courts under the aegis of this Committee to motivate them and help them understand the vital contribution that moot court participation at the college level makes to an advocate’s professional life.


International Moot Court Competition 2025
Inaugurated by Hon'ble Mr. Justice U.U. Lalit, 49th Chief Justice of India & Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, Acting Judge, Supreme Court of India
Asian Law College successfully hosted the International Moot Court Competition 2025 on 27th September 2025 & 28th September 2025. The event commenced with a grand inaugural ceremony that set an inspiring and distinguished tone for the competition. The ceremony was graced by Hon'ble Mr. Justice U.U. Lalit, 49th Chief Justice of India, Hon'ble Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, Judge, Supreme Court of India, Adv. Nar Hari Singh, Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the Asian Education Group (AEG), Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director — AEG, Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Director — AEG, and Dr. Gurdeep Singh Raina, Director — AEG, whose collective presence lent great prestige and inspiration to the occasion.
The competition brought together 30 National and International teams in a dynamic display of advocacy, intellect, and global legal engagement. Organised by the Moot Court Committee of Asian Law College in collaboration with Vidhiśāstras — Advocates & Solicitors, with SCC Online as Knowledge Partner and SCC Times as Media Partner, the competition featured compelling arguments on issues of international law, including humanitarian principles, the right to self-determination, and contemporary treaty obligations. The day featured two rounds of preliminary arguments judged by thirty eminent evaluators, culminating in the announcement of the top eight teams.
Day 2 witnessed heightened energy as finalists argued before a distinguished bench comprising Advocate Divya Swamy, Advocate Bharat Chugh, and Advocate Ashima Mandla, who commended participants for their clarity, research, and courtroom demeanour.
The Valedictory Session was presided over by Mr. Ashish Deep Verma, Founder / Managing Partner at Vidhiśāstras — Advocates & Solicitors as Chief Guest, who emphasised the transformative value of mooting.
The team from National Law University, Jodhpur, claimed the championship trophy along with a cash prize of ₹1,00,000/-, while CPJ College, Narela, secured the runners-up position with ₹50,000/-. Vanchhit Srivastava from School of Law, Christ University, Bangalore, won Best Speaker Male, and Tanjim Maliha from East West University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, won Best Speaker Female, each receiving ₹10,000/-. The Best Researcher award was conferred upon Anannya Verma from Maharashtra National Law University, Chhatrapathi Sambhajinagar, who received ₹10,000/- along with a three-month internship at Vidhisastras with a monthly stipend of ₹10,000/-. The Best Memorial award was presented to the team from Jamia Millia Islamia, along with a cash prize of ₹20,000/-, in recognition of their outstanding drafting, research, and logical structuring of legal arguments.

The Moot Court Committee, in collaboration with the Pro Bono Club at Asian Law College (ALC), successfully organized the 2nd edition of the "Judgment Analysis Competition 2.0" on 16th October, 2025. The competition was designed to enhance students' analytical and advocacy skills, encouraging them to critically examine judicial reasoning and its constitutional implications.
The preliminary rounds, held on 14th October, 2025, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 38 students, who presented comprehensive analyses of selected judgments. Their presentations focused on the facts, issues, ratio decidendi, societal impact, and their own critical interpretations. Based on their performance, five participants were shortlisted for the final round.
The final round was conducted on 16th October, 2025, in the Moot Court Hall, where finalists delivered outstanding presentations before an esteemed panel comprising Prof. Shri P. N. Parashar, Retired Judge, District Court, and Prof. Dr. Md. Khalid, Professor, ALC. The panel evaluated participants on clarity, depth of research, articulation, and legal reasoning.
After an impressive display of legal scholarship, Ahmad Faaras from B.A.LL.B. 2024-29 Batch was declared the Best Judgment Analyst, while Naina Sahai from B.A.LL.B. 2021-26 Batch secured the Runner-Up position. As a token of appreciation, the winner was awarded a trophy, a certificate of merit, and a mini Bare Act of the Constitution of India.
The competition effectively achieved its objective of promoting constitutional literacy and analytical thinking, serving as a fitting tribute to the spirit of the Constitution while reaffirming ALC's commitment to nurturing skilled and thoughtful legal professionals. The active participation of students, the insightful contributions of the judges, and the dedicated efforts of the organizing team collectively ensured the event's resounding success.

The Moot Court Committee (MCC) at Asian Law College (ALC) successfully organised the "Novice Moot Court Competition 2025" on 11th and 12th April 2025. This annual signature internal competition served as a cornerstone in developing students' advocacy skills and preparing them for prestigious external competitions. The competition provided an immersive platform for aspiring legal professionals to hone their jurisprudential expertise through practical experience, cultivating skills in critical analysis of complex legal issues, advanced research methodology, persuasive oral advocacy, comprehensive understanding of procedural law, and professional court etiquette and demeanour.
The competition was open to B.A.LL.B. 2023 and 2024 and LL.B. 2023 and 2024 students at Asian Law College. The Researcher's Test and the Draw of Lots were both conducted on 10th April 2025 from 4–5 PM in the Moot Court Hall.
The moot proposition for the 2025 edition revolved around a deeply compelling set of facts touching upon human rights, criminal justice, and police accountability. The competition comprised two Preliminary Rounds in which each team presented arguments from both sides, followed by Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and a Final Round as knockout rounds. The top 8 teams from the preliminary stage qualified to the Quarter-Finals. Participants were evaluated on knowledge of facts, application of law to facts, ingenuity in answering questions, presentation skills and legal coherence, time management, court etiquette, and quality of rebuttal and surrebuttal, for a total of 100 marks in the oral rounds.
The competition was conducted under the able guidance of Faculty Convener Ms. Twinkle Hussain and Faculty Coordinators Ms. Harsha Sharma, Mr. Ashish Rai, and Dr. Md. Tauheed Khan. The student coordination was led by Kavish Chugh and Utkarsh Agarwal (B.A.LL.B. 2020 and 2021 respectively), Sejal Gupta and Divam Awasthi (LL.B. 2023), and Dayanidhi and Piyush Bhardwaj (B.A.LL.B. 2021).
At the conclusion of the competition, the following awards were presented: Winners Trophy and Certificate, Runners-Up Trophy and Certificate, Best Speaker Award, Best Researcher Award, and Best Memorial Award. All participating students received E-certificates for participation. The Novice Moot Court Competition 2025 was yet another successful edition of this flagship event, reaffirming Asian Law College's commitment to nurturing the next generation of skilled legal professionals.

Legal Lab: Client Counselling Competition 2025
Asian Law College (ALC) successfully conducted the "Legal Lab: Client Counselling Competition 2025" on 13th September 2025, a unique platform designed for the students of ALC to integrate theoretical understanding with practical client-handling skills. Organised by the Moot Court Committee in collaboration with the Legal Aid Centre, the event aimed to enhance students' ability to analyse legal problems, communicate effectively with clients, and apply relevant legal principles in realistic counselling situations.
A total of 133 teams registered for the competition, preceded by a preparatory workshop titled "Bridging Theory & Practice: The Art of Client Handling," held on 11th September 2025. The preliminary proposition was based on the classic case related to the Contract Act, and after rigorous evaluation by esteemed faculty judges, four teams progressed to the semi-finals, which were centred around Law of Tort. From these, two teams advanced to the finals.
The final round was judged by Adv. Pulkit Agarwal, Advocate-On-Record and Dr. Adv. Shuchi Bharti, Advocate-On-Record, Supreme Court of India. Team Code 74, comprising Rishi Shukla and Vaishnavi Upadhyay from B.A.LL.B. 2021-26 Batch, emerged as the winners, while Team Code 71, consisting of Yashshvi Panwar and Muskan Singh from B.A.LL.B. 2023-28 Batch, secured the runners-up position. Special recognitions were awarded to Pawni Singh from B.A.LL.B. 2023-28 Batch, as Best Rapport Builder and Duwa Fatima Ajaz from B.A.LL.B. 2024-29 Batch, as Best Legal Lab Analyst. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. Shivam Jaiswal, Programme Convenor — ALC, marking the successful completion of a highly engaging and educational competition.

Nationals' Ranking and Mediation and Negotiation Competition
The Moot Court Committee, in collaboration with the Pro Bono Club at Asian Law College (ALC), successfully organized the "Nationals' Ranking and Mediation and Negotiation Competition" from 24th to 25th October 2024. The competition aimed to foster and enhance skills in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), particularly mediation and negotiation, among law students. By providing a platform for participants to engage in simulated legal disputes, the competition encouraged critical thinking, effective communication, and strategic problem-solving abilities. Additionally, the competition served as a platform for ranking participants to assess their capabilities and select the top-ranking teams to represent the institution in external competitions.
The event commenced with an inauguration ceremony on 24th October, officially marking the start of the competition. A remarkable 80 teams, divided into 8 dynamic groups, participated in the Preliminary Rounds, highlighting the breadth of talent among the student body and their enthusiasm for the competition. Each room simulated real-world mediation scenarios, with participants assuming the roles of both advocates and respondents. Co-mediators were strategically rotated to provide participants with exposure to various mediation techniques and to foster critical thinking.
Day 2 of the competition witnessed intense rounds, with the Top 8 teams being selected for the Quarter-Finals. This round saw teams competing in a knock-out format, showcasing their legal acumen and strategic thinking. Ultimately, the Top 4 Semi-Finalists emerged, each team displaying exceptional advocacy skills and a deep understanding of the legal issues at hand. The Final Round, held in the prestigious Moot Court Hall, was a thrilling contest between TC-71 and TC-77, with both teams delivering compelling arguments and insightful analysis.
The Nationals' Ranking and Mediation and Negotiation Competition concluded on a high note, showcasing the exceptional talent and dedication of the participants. The event provided a valuable platform for aspiring legal professionals to hone their skills in alternative dispute resolution. The active participation of students, the insightful contributions of the judges, and the dedicated efforts of the organizing team collectively ensured the event's resounding success. Judgment Analysis Competition 2024
The Moot Court Committee at Asian Law College (ALC), successfully organized the "Judgment Analysis Competition" on 26th and 27th November 2024, in honor of Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas). The competition was designed to cultivate critical thinking and legal research skills among students by encouraging them to explore judicial reasoning and its societal implications. Serving as a dynamic platform for aspiring legal professionals, the competition enabled participants to sharpen their advocacy abilities, present well-structured arguments, and engage in meaningful academic discussions. Over the course of two days, the event not only celebrated the essence of the Constitution but also promoted analytical excellence and legal scholarship, leaving a profound impact on all who participated.
The Preliminary Round, held on 26th November 2024, witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students across the B.A. LL.B. and LL.B. Batches. The participants were divided into four rooms for the initial assessment, where each presented their analysis of a recent landmark judgment selected from five given options, focusing on critical elements such as the facts of the case, issues raised, the ratio decidendi, and the judgment's societal impact. The students also offered their interpretations of how the judgment contributed to the evolution of constitutional jurisprudence. The Preliminary Round showcased high levels of intellectual rigor, as participants demonstrated their ability to dissect complex legal principles and present their insights cohesively. Based on their performance, eight participants were shortlisted for the Final Round.
The Final Round was conducted on 27th November 2024, in the Moot Court Hall, where the Top 8 finalists delivered outstanding presentations before an esteemed panel comprising Ashish Bhardwaj, Associate Dean, Asian Law College, and Prof. Dr. Md. The Moot Court Committee of Asian Law College (ALC), Noida successfully organized the "Novice Moot Court Competition" on 9th–10th February 2024. The competition was designed to provide students with a dynamic platform to immerse themselves in the intricacies of the Indian legal system, simulating real court proceedings through the drafting of legal briefs and oral arguments. Tailored specifically for students pursuing law courses, the event aimed to enhance advocacy skills, instill confidence, and foster a practical understanding of the legal milieu in India. The competition witnessed the participation of 14 teams from the B.A. LL.B. 2022 and LL.B. 2022 Batches. The moot problem, centered around Constitutional Law with connections to Criminal Law, set the stage for a challenging yet enriching competition.
The competition unfolded across a structured timeline spanning two days. The Preliminary Rounds were held on 9th February 2024, followed by the Quarter-Final and Semi-Final Rounds on 10th February 2024. The Semi-Final Round was marked by heightened competition, with two teams securing their places in the Final Round. The culmination of these intense rounds set the stage for the Valedictory Session, where the winners were officially announced and accolades were bestowed upon outstanding participants.
The distinguished awards presented during the Valedictory Session included the Winning Team award, conferred upon Team Code 24 — comprising Jayeeta Mandal, Yoshita Manral, and Vani Bhrigu from B.A. LL.B. 2022. The Runner-Up position was secured by Team Code 33 — comprising Muskaan Parveen, Saumya, and Sambis Kumar from B.A. LL.B. 2022. Anugrah Saxena from B.A. LL.B. 2022 was awarded the Best Mooter, while the Best Memorial award was presented to the team comprising Punya Ranjan, Tushar Kumar, and Kavya Yadav from B.A. LL.B. 2022. Ekta Trivedi from B.A. LL.B. 2022 was acknowledged as the Best Researcher.

The Moot Court Committee of Asian Law College (ALC) successfully organized the "National Moot Court Competition 2023" on 25th–27th February 2023, on campus. The competition was organized in collaboration with Vidhisāstras — Advocates & Solicitors, New Delhi, a globally acknowledged international law firm, in honour and memory of Hon'ble Late Shri Soli Jehangir Sorabjee, eminent Indian Jurist and Former Attorney-General for India. The theme of the competition was Constitutional Law.
The competition was inaugurated by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, whose distinguished presence lent great prestige and inspiration to the occasion.
The competition aimed to provide participants a platform to showcase their drafting, research, and mooting skills before the finest members of the legal profession. The objective was to train students to face real-life courtroom scenarios with confidence and to impart practical knowledge that enhances their mooting abilities. Students were encouraged to be clear and articulate while presenting their cases, and to understand the techniques required to effectively address and convince a bench. By presenting arguments before eminent legal professionals, participants received genuine feedback on courtroom conduct and advocacy. The practical experience gained through moot court competitions fosters holistic development, preparing students for their journey as legal professionals at national and international forums.
The competition attracted participation from law students and institutions from across the country. Preliminary Rounds were held on 25th February 2023, progressing to the Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, and Final Rounds on the subsequent days. Novice Moot Court Competition 2022
The Moot Court Committee of Asian Law College organised the Second Edition of the Novice Moot Court Competition in 2022. Building on the success of the inaugural edition held the previous year, this competition was specifically designed for first-year law students, offering them a structured and supportive platform to take their first steps into the world of advocacy.
The Second Edition of the Novice Moot Court Competition aimed to provide first-year students with a hands-on introduction to moot court practice, build confidence in oral argumentation and legal research at an early stage of legal education, encourage participation from both the B.A. LL.B. 2021 and LL.B. 2021 batches, and serve as a preparatory and qualifying ground for advanced inter-college competitions.
The event provided an invaluable preliminary experience, equipping participants with foundational courtroom skills and an understanding of the formal mooting process — acting as a critical stepping stone towards participation in external, open-tier competitions.

The Moot Court Committee of Asian Law College successfully organised the Mock Trial Advocacy Competition 2022, held from 12th May to 14th May 2022 at the college premises. This three-day competition was designed to provide law students with a meaningful and immersive platform to hone their trial advocacy skills, develop confidence in courtroom proceedings, and gain practical exposure to the dynamics of legal argumentation and judicial processes.

National Moot Court Competition 2022
The Moot Court Committee at Asian Law College (ALC) organised the "National Moot Court Competition" on 8th and 9th April 2022. In view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the competition was organised virtually. The competition was themed on Constitutional Law and provided law students from across the country a platform to demonstrate their skills in legal research, memorial drafting, and oral advocacy.
The competition was held under the patronage of Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, Asian Education Group, as Chief Patron, and Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director, Asian Education Group, as Patron. Mr. Ashish Bhardawaj, Head, Asian Law College, extended their guidance and support throughout the event. The Faculty Convener, Mr. Amit Nagar, along with Faculty Co-Conveners Ms. Divyasha Dubey and Ms. Ishmeet Kaur Taluja, efficiently supervised the conduct of the competition.
The Researchers' Test was conducted on 7th April 2022, followed by the Preliminary Rounds on 8th April 2022. The Semi-Finals, Final Round, and the Valedictory Session were all held on 9th April 2022.
The competition carried attractive prizes. The Winning Team was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/-, the Runners-Up received Rs. 3,000/-, the Best Mooter was awarded Rs. 2,500/-, the Best Researcher received Rs. 2,000/-, and the Best Memorial was recognised with Rs. 1,500/-. In addition, certificates were awarded to the Winning Team, Runners-Up, Best Mooter, Best Memorial, Best Researcher, and all participating teams.
The National Moot Court Competition 2022 was a resounding success despite being held virtually. The competition provided a meaningful opportunity for law students to sharpen their advocacy skills, engage with complex constitutional law issues, and experience the rigor of competitive mooting.

Novice Moot Court Competition 2021
The Moot Court Committee of Asian Law College organised the First Edition of the Novice Moot Court Competition in 2021, marking the inception of what was envisioned as an annual institution for first-year law students. True to its name, the "Novice" competition was conceived with the express purpose of creating a welcoming yet rigorous entry point for students experiencing moot court for the very first time.
The inaugural Novice Moot Court Competition was driven by the goal of introducing first-year students to the concept, format, and etiquette of moot court competitions, offering a safe, intra-institutional environment for students to experience competitive advocacy for the first time, identifying and nurturing mooting talent at the foundational level of legal education, and establishing an annual tradition of novice-level mooting at Asian Law College.

National Moot Court Competition 2020

Asian Law College (ALC), a part of the Asian Education Group, successfully organized its "National Moot Court Competition 2020" on the theme of Constitutional Law on 16th–17th February 2020 at its Noida campus. The competition witnessed the participation of 24 teams and 72 participants from top law colleges and universities across the country, vying for honours in a competition marked by intellectual rigour and advocacy excellence. The event also witnessed the formal inauguration of the "ALC Judicial Coaching Academy" within the college precincts.
The Inaugural Ceremony was held on 16th February 2020, graced by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Dipak Misra, 45th Chief Justice of India, as the Eminent Guest, who delivered a highly enlightening inaugural address.
In his inaugural address, Hon'ble Justice Misra enlightened the audience with his erudition and the rich repertoire of his experience. Citing the lives of four great historical personages — Archimedes, Demosthenes, Newton, and Abraham Lincoln — he drew parallels between their core achievements and the fundamental tenets of legal education: the value of research, advocacy, intellectual humility, and ethical conduct, respectively. He further underscored the supreme importance of books, learning, and the accumulation of knowledge for aspiring law students. Justice Misra noted that "a student of law must stand against anarchy" and must always strive to uphold the national character of India throughout their career. Speaking specifically about the competition, he advised the students: "Never compare yourself with anyone in life; participate with patience and control over anger, and always remember that participation is in itself an achievement."
