National Moot Court Competition 2023

The Moot Court Committee of Asian Law College (ALC) successfully organized the "National Moot Court Competition 2023" on 25th–27th February 2023, on campus. The competition was organized in collaboration with Vidhisāstras — Advocates & Solicitors, New Delhi, a globally acknowledged international law firm, in honour and memory of Hon'ble Late Shri Soli Jehangir Sorabjee, eminent Indian Jurist and Former Attorney-General for India. The theme of the competition was Constitutional Law.
The competition was inaugurated by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, whose distinguished presence lent great prestige and inspiration to the occasion.
The competition aimed to provide participants a platform to showcase their drafting, research, and mooting skills before the finest members of the legal profession. The objective was to train students to face real-life courtroom scenarios with confidence and to impart practical knowledge that enhances their mooting abilities. Students were encouraged to be clear and articulate while presenting their cases, and to understand the techniques required to effectively address and convince a bench. By presenting arguments before eminent legal professionals, participants received genuine feedback on courtroom conduct and advocacy. The practical experience gained through moot court competitions fosters holistic development, preparing students for their journey as legal professionals at national and international forums.
The competition attracted participation from law students and institutions from across the country. Preliminary Rounds were held on 25th February 2023, progressing to the Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, and Final Rounds on the subsequent days. The Final Round was conducted in the prestigious Moot Court Hall, where finalists argued before a distinguished panel of eminent legal professionals. The active participation of students, the insightful contributions of the judges, and the dedicated efforts of the Moot Court Committee collectively ensured the event's resounding success, reaffirming ALC's commitment to nurturing skilled, confident, and well-rounded legal professionals.
