National Moot Court Competition 2022

The Moot Court Committee at Asian Law College (ALC) organised the "National Moot Court Competition" on 8th and 9th April 2022. In view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the competition was organised virtually. The competition was themed on Constitutional Law and provided law students from across the country a platform to demonstrate their skills in legal research, memorial drafting, and oral advocacy.

The competition was held under the patronage of Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, Asian Education Group, as Chief Patron, and Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director, Asian Education Group, as Patron. Mr. Ashish Bhardawaj, Head, Asian Law College, extended their guidance and support throughout the event. The Faculty Convener, Mr. Amit Nagar, along with Faculty Co-Conveners Ms. Divyasha Dubey and Ms. Ishmeet Kaur Taluja, efficiently supervised the conduct of the competition.

The Researchers' Test was conducted on 7th April 2022, followed by the Preliminary Rounds on 8th April 2022. The Semi-Finals, Final Round, and the Valedictory Session were all held on 9th April 2022.

The competition carried attractive prizes. The Winning Team was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/-, the Runners-Up received Rs. 3,000/-, the Best Mooter was awarded Rs. 2,500/-, the Best Researcher received Rs. 2,000/-, and the Best Memorial was recognised with Rs. 1,500/-. In addition, certificates were awarded to the Winning Team, Runners-Up, Best Mooter, Best Memorial, Best Researcher, and all participating teams.

The National Moot Court Competition 2022 was a resounding success despite being held virtually. The competition provided a meaningful opportunity for law students to sharpen their advocacy skills, engage with complex constitutional law issues, and experience the rigor of competitive mooting.
