Saturday, March 18th, 2023 stands as a landmark date in the proud history of Asian Law College, part of Asian Education Group (AEG), as the institution celebrated its 12th Convocation Ceremony at the distinguished Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath Road, New Delhi. The ceremony was accorded extraordinary distinction by the eminent presence of Hon'ble Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, 13th Vice President of India, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The formal proceedings commenced with a solemn student procession, followed by the academic procession in which the dignitaries — Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu; Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, AEG; Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director, AEG; Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Director, AEG; and Dr. Gurdeep Singh Raina, Director, AEG — along with the Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members, were ceremonially ushered in to the spirited accompaniment of the college band.
Adorned in their exquisite caps and gowns, the dignitaries graced the dais with presence and distinction. Following the customary invocation song and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, the programme coordinator extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries, invitees, parents, faculty members, and graduands. Each distinguished guest was felicitated with bouquets and mementoes and formally introduced to the gathering. Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director, AEG, then ceremonially declared the Graduation Day open. The proceedings commenced with an endearing welcome address by Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Director, AEG, followed by the presentation of the Academic Report by Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director, AEG. Each dignitary then enlightened and motivated the graduating students, urging them towards the realisation of their visions and goals. This was followed by the solemn Oath-Taking Ceremony, administered by Dr. Shweta Batra, Dean Examinations, AEG, and repeated in unison by the students.
The 12th Convocation Ceremony of Asian Law College marked yet another proud milestone, as the institution also conferred the Distinguished Faculty Awards 2023 alongside the award of diplomas and medals to all graduating students. The ceremony was heralded by the conferral of Gold Medals upon the toppers of their respective programmes — Somya Panwar, B.A.LL.B. (2017–2022 Batch), and Anshul Arora, LL.B. (2019–2022 Batch) — who stepped forward magnificently in their convocation robes, setting a grand prelude for the conferral of diplomas and certificates upon the remaining graduates. Ms. Divyasha Dubey was honoured with 'The Distinguished Faculty Award 2023' in recognition of her profound and lasting positive impact on the lives of students.
The ceremony was further charged with inspiration through the compelling addresses of Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, AEG, and Dr. Gurdeep Singh Raina, Director, AEG. The crowning highlight of this year's Convocation was the address by the Chief Guest, Hon'ble Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, whose stirring words captivated the audience and transported them to a vision of a proud and resurgent India, leaving an enduring impression on all those present.
The ceremony drew to a gracious close with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Maroof Mir Ahmed, who warmly expressed gratitude to all who had taken the time to attend and to everyone whose collective efforts had made the event a resounding success. The event concluded with a joyous photoshoot of the graduating students, diplomas and certificates proudly in hand, their faces alight with smiles. As they gathered the cherished memories of their journey at Asian Law College, tears of nostalgia glistened in their eyes — yet the pride of passing out with flying colours brought an unmistakable happiness to every face.
