Saturday, June 18th, 2022 marked a proud and memorable chapter in the history of Asian Law College (ALC), part of Asian Education Group (AEG), as the institution celebrated its Convocation Ceremony 2022 at the distinguished Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. The ceremony commenced with the academic procession marching solemnly into the auditorium, led by an eminent gathering of dignitaries — Mr. Vipul Sabharwal, Managing Director, Luminous Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd.; Ms. Rachna Sharma, Founder, Phuro Innovations, and Co-Chair, Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs; Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, AEG; Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director, AEG; Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Director, AEG & Dr. Gurdeep Singh Raina, Director, AEG — accompanied by the Heads of Departments, Programme Convener, and faculty members.
Resplendent in their beautiful caps and gowns, the dignitaries graced the dais with elegance and authority. Following the customary invocation song and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, the programme coordinator extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries, invitees, parents, faculty members, and graduating students. Each distinguished guest was felicitated with bouquets and mementos and formally introduced to the gathering. Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director, AEG, then ceremonially declared the Graduation Day open. The proceedings were enriched by heartfelt welcome addresses delivered by the dignitaries, each sharing words of wisdom, encouragement, and inspiration with the graduating class. This was followed by the solemn Oath-Taking Ceremony, administered by Mr. Ravi Sharma, Dean, Corporate Resource Cell, Asian Law College, and repeated with conviction by the students.
The Convocation Ceremony was rendered all the more memorable with the continuation of a cherished institutional tradition — the conferral of the Distinguished Faculty Award. For the year 2022, this honour was bestowed upon Dr. Prity Sharma, Programme Convener, Asian Law College, in recognition of her profound and lasting positive impact on the lives of her students. The ceremony also celebrated academic excellence with the award of Gold Medals to the toppers of the B.A.LL.B. and LL.B. programmes — K.M. Rachna, LL.B. (2017–2020); Nishi Gupta, LL.B. (2018–2021); and Aditi Aggarwal, B.A.LL.B. (2016–2021) — each honoured for their distinguished and exemplary achievement in academics.
The formal proceedings drew to a gracious close with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sunita Verma, Dean, Students' Welfare (DSW), Asian Law College, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the dignitaries, stakeholders, management, and teaching and non-teaching staff for their invaluable contribution in making the event a resounding success. Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director, AEG, then formally declared the Convocation Ceremony closed, and the function concluded on a note of patriotic solemnity with the singing of the National Anthem.
The Convocation Ceremony was warmly received by the alumni of Asian Law College, as the graduating batches had the joyous opportunity to intermingle with one another, snapping photographs in their scholar's robes and sending their caps soaring high into the air in celebration. The students relived the cherished memories forged during their years at ALC, while savouring high tea with their classmates at the convocation venue — a fitting and convivial conclusion to a day that celebrated not merely academic achievement, but the enduring bonds of fellowship and the promise of a distinguished future.
