Semi-Finale of the Social Change Maker Champion of the year 2025 – 26

The Semi-Finals of the Social Change Maker Champion of the year 2025 – 26 was successfully conducted on Monday, 23rd March 2026, by the Legal Aid Centre under the aegis of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Gautam Buddha Nagar, in collaboration with the Pro Bono Club established under the Nyaya Bandhu Scheme, at Asian Law College.

The event received an overwhelming response, with 400+ student registrations, reflecting strong enthusiasm and commitment towards social reform and community-based problem solving. Following an initial screening and evaluation process, the Top 50 shortlisted participants advanced to the Semi-Finale Round to present their innovative social initiatives.

The Semi-Finale presentations were assessed by an eminent panel of judges comprising Mr. Mathew Cherian, Trustee, Centre for Advocacy and Research; Ms. Akhila Sivadas, Executive Director, Centre for Advocacy and Research; Ms. Neeru Yadav, Sarpanch of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan; Ms. Rashmi Shukla, Urban Organic Gardening Educator and Sustainability Advocate; and Ms. Meenakshi Dhingra, Founder, Tanisa Foundation. The event was further supported by evaluators from Asian Law College, including Ms. Ayushi Gupta, Ms. Vartika Singh, Dr. Nityash Solanki, Ms. Harsha Sharma, and Ms. Ishani Chhaudha.

The 50 Semi-finalist presented ideas addressing a wide spectrum of contemporary concerns such as environmental sustainability, child education, cyber awareness, legal aid for marginalized communities, hunger eradication, menstrual hygiene, women and child empowerment, digital safety, public health awareness, and mental health advocacy. The judging criteria focused on innovation, practicality, clarity of presentation, scalability, and potential social impact.

The event successfully promoted critical thinking, leadership, social responsibility, and civic consciousness among students. The insightful observations and constructive feedback offered by the judges helped participants strengthen and refine their initiatives.

Overall, the Semi-Finals effectively embodied the spirit of “Ideas for Justice, Action for Change,” inspiring students to emerge as informed, compassionate, and solution-oriented changemakers.
