Novice Moot Court Competition 2026

The Moot Court Committee at Asian Law College (ALC) organized the 6th  edition of “Novice Moot Court Competition 2026” on 27th February, 2026 & 28th February, 2026, providing first-year students of the batch of 2025, a structured platform to develop legal research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills. The competition was centred around a contemporary constitutional law problem concerning freedom of speech and expression and AI-based content regulation.

The competition formally commenced with the Draw of Lots and a total of 48 teams participated in the Preliminary Rounds, which were held across 12 courtrooms. These rounds were adjudicated by a panel of 17 Alumni, welcoming them back to their alma mater, alongside in-house faculty members.

Out of the 48 teams, 8 teams qualified to the quarter-finals and further 4 teams advanced to the Sem-finals. After rigorous rounds the finalist were declared which wer TC-03 & TC-53

The Final Round was at the Moot Court Hall and was adjudicated by a distinguished panel of legal professionals, Adv. Veera Mathai, Principal Associate – Saga Legal, and Adv. Sandeepan Pathak, Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India, who evaluated participants on legal reasoning, clarity of arguments, use of precedents, and courtroom etiquettes.

Team Code TC-53, comprising Bhumi Sharma, Kartik Mandhan, and Mayank Gupta  from LL.B. 2025-28 Batch, emerged as Winners, while Team Code TC-03, comprising Madhav Sharma, Kanika Adhikari, and Chain Singh from B.A. LL.B. 2025-30 Batch, secured the Runner-Up position. Team TC-63 comprising Karan Sharma, Aman Verma, and Tushar Saxena received from LL.B. 2025-28 Batch Best Memorial award. The Best Researcher title was bagged by Harshit Verma from B. Com.LL.B. 2025-28 Batch and Bhumi Sharma from LL.B. 2025-28 Batch was recognised as the Best Speaker of the competition.
