INTER-COLLEGE ELOCUTION COMPETITION FOR DANDI MARCH ROLLING TROPHY AT GSDS

Asian Law College, Noida made a notable contribution at an Inter-College Elocution Competition for the Dandi March Rolling Trophy on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, organized by Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti at Gandhi Darshan, Rajghat in order to revisit the Gandhian leadership principles and its importance in today’s youth leadership. The theme of the competition was “Lessons from Mahatma Gandhi’s Leadership Style and its Importance in Today’s Youth Leadership”.

The competition provided a vibrant platform for students of the B.A. LL.B and LL.B. programs to showcase their oratory talents. The students of Asian Law College included Zigyasa Mishra of LL.B. 2023, Mohd. Mehndi and Anjali Diwakar B.A. LL.B. 2023, Saloni Agrawal B.A. LL.B. 2023 and Rudrakshi Verma B.A. LL.B 2022 Batches participated in the competition. The students were accompanied by  Ms. Arjita Banerjee, Assistant Professor of English and a member of GSDS. The primary goal of the competition was to instill Gandhian values among the students like empathy, non-violence, truth, and mortal courage and imbibing the leadership principles of Mahatma Gandhi. The event commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Vedabhyas Kundu, Programme Officer, Gandhi Smriti And Darshan Samiti. Participants from various colleges put forward their viewpoint exploring Gandhian values like empathy, non-violence, truth, and mortal courage. The event was much accentuated by the glorious presence of Dr. Annu Anand and Dr. Sourav Kumar Rai and Dr. Sailaja Gullapalli as the judges for the occasion. The competition featured an array of performances across students from various backgrounds of Delhi NCR, reflecting their creative thoughts accompanied by impressive articulation and diction.  The students participated in the competition with full enthusiasm and engagement. The audience present in the auditorium was captivated by the performances, which contributed to a lively and encouraging atmosphere.

The competition concluded with an interactive session between the judges and students, during which the judges complimented the participants for their outstanding individual performances as well as shared their valuable suggestions on the same. Rudrakshi Verma of B.A. LL.B. 22-27 secured 2nd Position with a cash prize of Rs. 4500/- at the competition. The Inter-College Elocution Competition for Dandi March Rolling Trophy successfully achieved its goal of generating awareness about leadership principles of Mahatma Gandhi and ensuring Gandhian values among youngsters of the country.
